After the decades-long love affair with Indian cuisine that started it all, this was a year of many firsts at House of Kajaana. As we celebrate the year’s end, we can’t help but reflect back at all the joyful moments that 2023 has brought us.

Your willingness to try our meals, which reimagine the traditional Indian dishes we love, and welcome us to your table is all we hoped for. We’re so thankful for the support you’ve shown us along the way.
We always knew our communities were hungry for something new, something that would joyfully nourish them without sacrificing their health, the planet, or their time. Since we launched House of Kajaana in March, we’ve experienced exactly that. We’re all looking for a delicious, no-prep meal that tastes great and is made with delightful whole ingredients we can feel good about.
When crafting our meals, we had a long list of non-negotiables to ensure we created the best meals for you, with both crave-worthy flavors and satisfying nutrition. From ingredient sourcing, to production, to our teams, each step has been marked by incredible partners who share our vision, and want to help us bring it further.
From making our beloved meals available on our website and the freezer section of Pop Up Grocer, your overwhelming excitement helped us reach even more people when we had the opportunity to launch with FreshDirect. We’ve now delighted the tables of nearly 12,000 homes across the country with our plant-based Indian meals—and we’re just getting started.
In our commitment to the highest quality ingredients and nutritious meals, we’ve recently received our Non-GMO Project verification, which you’ll soon see on our updated packaging featuring the beautiful Non-GMO Project verified butterfly!
Behind the scenes, 2023 was also the year we built our confidence with larger production runs, learning to nail the process and perfect our meals at scale. Each meal we sell is a celebration of what we’re creating, the work we’re doing, and the communities we’re doing it for.
As our journey to bringing joy and filling even more freezers continues, we know that 2024 will be another year of milestones and firsts for House of Kajaana…like our first major national retailer launch(!).
